A figure without a date is not a fact, it is a memory. Everything measurable here carries one.
- Claims checked against primary sources where they exist.
- What is not confirmed is labelled as not confirmed.
- Corrections are made in place and noted.
- Nothing is presented as verified that is not.
The workflow
How a page gets to publication
Three steps, and the third is the one most sites skip.
Verification
Anything measurable is checked before it is published, and anything that cannot be checked is written as an estimate rather than a fact.
Updates and corrections
Pages are revised when the underlying figure moves. A correction is made in place, not quietly deleted.

Tell the desk. A figure that has moved gets corrected in place, and you will have done every later reader a favour.
